Sr. Lina Petrucelli, an Italian Sister, laid the foundation of Ville St. John Academy.  It started its operation in the year 1985. On that same year the library was also opened wherein an aspirant of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist was the librarian. The Library was located at the ground floor of the main building.

In 1986, Sr. Lucy Gunting the first Filipina sister of the Congregation returned back to the Philippines and in 1989 she became the first Filipino Principal of the school. Due to an increasing number of students books were procured which added to the number of collections.

In the year 1991, the library was transferred to the fourth floor of the same building to provide a more conducive atmosphere for study. It was windy, peaceful with a beautiful panorama.  Through the windows facing East and North, one can see the tranquil place of Marcelo Green Village and Maywood. Facing South, you can capture the whole panoramic view of Fourth Estate, the whole Sucat area and its neighboring places. This place was indeed far from the noise of the city.

In 1992, Ms. Sylvia R. Obliosca was hired as an employee and was assigned in the library. In order to provide her an ample knowledge in line with her work, she took a two year course with the specialization in Library Science. Since then up to the present, she is still one of the staff in the library.

Each year, the collection of books and other references were added particularly the encyclopedias which has highest number of collections. But the most featured collection in the library was the installation of the computer with internet connection in the year 2003 under the leadership of Sr. Marilyn Andan. Pupils, students, faculty, working students, alumni etc. made use of these facilities not only in research work but also to enhance personal interest like communicating friends here and abroad. In 2004, Marlon Alonzo became a part of the library staff as technician to maintain the computers.

In the year 2006 under the supervision of Sr. Teodula Forones as the School Principal, collections increased tremendously. The school provided more reference books both for students and faculty. Every year more computers had been added to facilitate the research of the users.

In 2007, both prints and non-prints collections increased. It was then that Ms. Cristy Bitoca was transferred to the library as an assistant librarian after taking some units in Library Science. In November 2008, Sr. Aida Porteza was appointed as Head Librarian. In November 18-19, 2008 the preliminary survey of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) was conducted. In October 17, 2009, Miss Jacqueline Garabilis came as the library consultant in preparation for the first phase visit of the PAASCU on September 8-9, 2011 for the formal survey and the school passed the first level.

Just after the accreditation, for the first time, the library staff started to weed out some old and obsolete books. Books and magazines with plenty of copies were donated to the nearest public school, 4th Estate Elementary School. Some copies were also given to Tambakan, an outreach program of the school and mission schools of the Congregation.

In summer 2010, the library was transferred to the second floor to make it more accessible to all users especially to the lower grades as recommended by the PAASCU.

In 2015, just this year Ms. Sylvia R. Obliosca, the librarian passed the licensure examination for librarians.

At present the library has five areas: Circulation, General References, Periodicals, Internet, Reading area and the Teacher’s corner. Through information technology, the world is getting smaller every day. Library has been the most important place of research and updating for almost all patrons of Ville St. John Academy.
